Your Danish Physiotherapist in Spain
My name is Betiina (34 years old) and I am a licensed physiotherapist and acupuncturist. I have also completed several courses in yoga, pilates, diet and nutrition, and relaxation since 1999. Over the last 3 ˝ years I have had my clinic in Torreblanca – Fuengirola.
At the clinic I offer psysiotherapy, acupuncture and Cranio-Sacral therapy. I also teach my own developed concept which I call fys-yo-lates.
My first point of action as a psysiotherapist is a thorough examination of the patients problem, and after analysing the results I suggest a form of treatment that the patient can actively take part in. The treatment can be a mix of of strenghts/movement excersises and stretching the muscles. This I normally combine with treatment of massage, treatment of trigger points and cranio-Sacral therapy.

If the patient agree I tend to also combine the treatment with acupuncture as this has a great effect on most symptoms and illnesses, and in general offers a better well-being.
Acupuncture is often used as a stand alone treatment for allergies, eksema, problems with the digestive system, and also weightloss problems and wishing to quit smoking.
Fys-yo-lates is my own term and is a mixture of Physiotherapy, Yoga, and Pilates. The body is brought into balance through a better knowing of your body and mind, improved control of the muscles, flexibility co-ordination, balance, strength, flexibility and breathing – and the exercise is both good physically and mentally.
Fys = Physiotherapy because I am a licensed physiotherapist and always very conscious about both posture and training which does not overload the body but strengthens it instead. This I am very conscious of in my classes.

Yo = Yoga has within a few years become very popular and people all over the world does yoga exercises every day either alone or in teams. Why a lot of people have taken up yoga and its sometimes complicated moves is obvious. Yoga fit into the lifestyle of both the younger and the older generation. Especially today when we are all in a hurry all the time.
Lates = Pilates is also called the ”newest” oldest form for exercise. Pilates is actually an 80 year old form for exercise and is based on the philosophy of ´no pain, ALL gain`. Pilates strengthens the body from the inside out by building muscular strength. Both big and small muscles are used which results in both stronger, flexible and slenderized muscles.
I always do the very best to make sure that the client is my main focus, and I create a relaxing and comfortable atmosphere which will make you fell understood and welcome both before, during and after the treatment.
