Fys-yo-lates is my own term and is a mixture of Physiotherapy, Yoga, and Pilates. The body is brought into balance through a better kropsbevisthed, improved control of the muscles, flexibility co-ordination, balance, strength, spændstighed and breathing – and the exercise is both good physically and mentally.
Fys = Physiotherapy because I am a licensed physiotherapist and always very conscious about both posture and training which does not overload the body but strengthens it instead. This I am very conscious of in my classes
Yo = Yoga has within a few years become very popular and people all over the world does yoga exercises every day either alone or in teams. Why a lot of people have taken up yoga and its sometimes complicated moves is obvious. Yoga fit into the lifestyle of both the younger and the older generation. Especially today when we are all in a hurry all the time.
Lates = Pilates is also called the ”newest” oldest form for exercise. Pilates is actually an 80 year old form for exercise and is based on the philosophy of ´no pain, ALL gain`. Pilates strengthens the body from the inside out by building muscular strength. Both big and small muscles are used which results in both stronger, flexible and slenderized muscles.

What is Fys-yo-lates?
Fys-yo-lates is not an exercise where you get the pulse racing. It is a combined exercise where the goal is to strengthen the body from the inside out to avoid injuries and reduce common wear and tear of the body.
Among other things you will strengthen your muscle group around the spine, the abdominal and pelvis. It is now a known fact that if the centre of you body is functioning then you achieve maximum wellness. You shape you your body and achieve stronger and more flexible muscles which mean that you daily movements will be easy and more comfortable.
The core of our body is the loin. All of our movements stem from the core of your body and the muscles in our back and abdominals work as one unit in our daily movements. This means that no matter what you do these muscles are almost always at work. It is therefore important that these muscles are strong and can stand the work expected from the body.
Through the exercise you will achieve a better knowledge of how your body works and also get a feeling that you have exercised all the muscles in your body. After your first fys-yo-lates class you will experience both flexibility, strength and improved balance. You get a better posture and quickly become very aware how to use you body correctly in normal daily chores. It aims to balance all the muscle groups as this creates the foundation for rebuilding the posture. Awareness is very important in all exercises.

Through the exercises you use the muscles in your whole body. Even muscles that you did not know existed. The blood circulation improves, which stimulates the whole body and it creates a good balance between body and mind.
Relaxation
In my classes I stress the importance of keeping an energy flowing through the body to ensure good health. The exercises consist of an even balance of the circulation of energy and with deep, calm and regular breathing the body becomes relaxed and the mind calm and at easy.
The control of the breathing will little by little balance through the exercises as you in the Psysyolates classes are forced to slow down and forget about the stress in your day to day life. It will also make you focus on your body and how it moves.
The Classes are focused a lot on peace, quite and harmony. It is not only focused on the muscle group, but it also strengthen body and mind, and offers ”inner peace”.
Fys-yo-lates is a gentle form for exercise and can there be done by everyone regardless of age, fitness level or health. The most important aspect is that you are motivated and want to exercise your body.
